From our use of premium nutrients, to our hand harvesting and packaging techniques, every step in our process has been well thought out and intentional. We think that care translates to higher quality plants.
Our crops are never exposed to soil, thus minimizing the risk of soil born pathogens like E-coli, salmonella, and coliform. Our crops are never sprayed with pesticides. Furthermore, as a licensed wholesale food establishment, we package our products in a food safe environment that complies with Illinois health regulations, further promoting cleaniness and prolonged shelf life.
Our indoor growing environment promotes consistency in both quality and quantity of our produce. Growing indoors minimizes weather related and environmental risks associated with traditional outdoor farming, allowing us to mitigate pricing and supply related issues caused by seasonalities.
We are located just minutes from the Chicago Loop, and are near major expressways. This allows us ease in delivery and transportation. We are a Chicago business, created by Chicagoans, for Chicagoans. Together with our customers, we are investing in the growth of the local economy.
We grow crops using hydroponics, which simply means growing crops in nutrient rich water rather than in soil. This process captures and reuses roughly 90% of the water that would otherwise be wasted in runoff. We also grow our crops indoors, which allows us to grow even in the dead of the Chicago winter. When done correctly, we believe hydroponics can result in fresher, cleaner, and higher quality vegetables.
